I don't know if it exists exactly with that mechanism, with the button on top, but you can certainly get push/hammer-together buttons like that. I bought some to fix a pair of my son's overalls that had lost a button just like that guy's. JoAnn or any sewing store carries them.
I recall once having one of those little travel sewing kits that included some 'emergency buttons' that were similar to the ones in the ad. They were, of course, supposed to be temporary replacements until you could sew on a new one.
If you ask me...not only could that "batchelor" sew on buttons...all his furniture is probably decorated with handcrocheted anti-macassars that he made himself while baking precious cupcakes that will be decorated with the lovliest swirly pink icing and candied violets made from his own garden...
Puts a new spin on Norwegian batchelor farmer, doesn't it?
Mr. Bachelor up there resembles makeup artist Way Bandy to an alarming degree. I assume after this photo shoot that he bleached and plucked his eyebrows into a nice high arch
