This is an obvious failure. My aunt works in a craniofacial department, where I used to file... the staff tell parents if they want to change the shape of their baby's ears or nose to just press down on it or push it while they watch TV. The cartilage is soft and malleable; it molds easily and painlessly at that stage. If I recall correctly, when you get a rhinoplasty, they have to shave the bone, not just the cartilage. This silly method would likely would just make your nose sore or bruised. /rant.
I do believe that the noses of babies and small children are all soft cartilage; there isn't any solid bone yet (or something close to that). So yes, if the customer was an infant I'd say it would work if the device applied the pressure correctly.
