technically true, but alaska and hawaii were only territories in 1952, so they would probably be nearly as foreign as china to most americans (except, perhaps for ww2 veterans of the pacific theater).

The Stratocruiser was a development of the B-29 bomber. Same wings, tail, and engine, basically. The cabin was pressurized, so they had to redesign the nose.
