We had the Volkswagen Kleinbus as a summer car in 80s and as a child, I loved it! There was no seatbelts and us kids used to stand during the ride, just taking a grip of the backs of the driver's and passanger seats.
One holiday trip the engine literally dropped to the ground. The three metal rods keeping it in place had rusted beyond reparable. And that was the last trip for that car :D
