Exploitation is indeed my favourite genre of film poster and the one I collect with the most interest and/or joy. Folllowed closely by classic 60s and 70s porn and sleaze and everything else after that..
that reminds me of some weird hotel i stayed at once that had a round bed and a round room and a completely mirrored room---walls, ceilings, floors--EVERYTHING! it was strange that they could make round mirrors for the curved walls, but they did! too bad i didn't have a super 8 and some fortified wine with me...
On second thoughts - is this a geniune period piece? It doesn't quite look like a real film poster - the lack of actors, director or studio names for one thing. And wasn't the artwork usually in colour, and slightly less advert-sketchy, in genuine film posters of the 50's or early 60's? I am wondering if it's a parody of some kind. (I know someone above said they found a ref to the film on the net, but I am still curious. Even the alternate titles sound almost too good to be true!)
I've learned that nothing is certain in the world of fringe film. The big studios would follow your guidelines but exploitation filmmakers and pushers made their own rules. A film could play endlessly under numerous titles and budgets didn't always include a nice and showy poster design or even many copies. I have some that are laughably cheap and some that are surprisingly cretive and gorgeous, considering what they're advertising.
It is always interesting when the true value of something, and the care with which it is packaged or marketed, are at wide variance.
The love and attention that is paid to creating, packaging and marketing low-grade snack foods in the UK is endlessly baffling. But also a little gratifying. Otherwise we'd never have worcester sauce flavoured Walkers crisps.
