Does anyone still have one of these? Does it still work like the first day?

It's a washing machine right? Can you imagine this being considered "space age"? Ha!

I think they do still make things like this though.

There are videos of washing machines like this on YouTube, and they seem to still be going strong. I can't remember how I found the links, but there are appliance enthusiasts out there.

M. Jacques Fonteray might be a bit irritated (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0062711/) -

The model looks like Patty Boyd.

You're right - but there's a chance it's Jane Asher (http://www.popthing.com/zona_cine/jane_asher.jpg).

They looked so much alike, but I don't remember if Jane Asher modeled. I know she was a legit actress.

We had one of these when I was a teenager! The mechanism is so simple that it never failed and my mom couldn't part with it when we bought her a modern one. She kept it until quite recently. When she first got it she was so delighted that she didn't have to scrub all the laundry on the scrubbing board anymore! It was Space Age appliance to her.
