All rightey, so this is one of a couple of ads that I will be sharing soon. It's a two page spread. Back in the day I was quite the clipper as I recently re-discovered. I used to clip animal pictures, interesting ads, comics, weird news, whatever...some of it made it into a scrapbook, others floated around in the cruft as bits of paper often do. This is the inside of the two page spread. On the outside was a granola bar ad and I was at a complete loss as to why I saved it (more on that later).
Fortunately, yesterday's decision is the future's gain as there is much to admire with this ad with all the coupons intact. I love the friendly colour palette, the whimsical booths and the way the food is simply rendered. Even the clown doesn't bother me and I can't stand clowns :-D It seems to me illustration really hit a stride in the 80s, or maybe it's just what I remember best.

This isn't exactly an ad, it's the front of a package, but it scared the bejesus out of me!

Note how the scribbled font is perfect for a horror movie!
