Are you sure this is the 40s? It looks more like the 50s or 60 s to me.

It's pre-1959 (pre-rabbit) but the full color photo makes me think 1950s too, not 1940s. Similar ads are 1956/1957, like this one:

"Pre-rabbit" I can't believe that's a thing. XD Trix+Rabbit=OTP

Thank you mother-unit for the bowl of nutritive substance. It is acceptable to this daughter-unit's flavor sensors.

You don't have to be grown-up to think breakfast is a pretty ghastly meal some mornings. Even five-year-old young ladies need a bowlful of fruit color, fruit-flavor Trix to change their morning outlook from grim to gay. When you're five (give or take a few years either way), you kind of fall in love with Trix and the way its bright fruit colors wink up at you through the milk. You become quite attached to the way that sparkly fruit-flavor keeps demanding another spoonful, until pretty soon you're down to the bottom of the bowl. That's why Trix were born. To make good grain nourishment more fun.

Mom Note: How do you know what Trix can do, till you pour some?
