Gay Equality Day this Thursday!

If you've had issues with LJ today (it's been offline a few times for me today) it is more than likely due to what the Russian lower house of parliament did today. Basically they passed a bill that children are not to be told about homosexuality and gays are to be further stigmatized. They have no doubt it will pass the upper house of parliament and be signed by Putin. Protesters were rounded up and arrested. Here's a link to an article on the Washington Post website if you haven't heard about this yet.

That's the MAIN impetus for our first Gay Equality Day, though I've wanted to have one for awhile---and it has been suggested before too. I think we are going to do this once a month from now on. I can't really set a day because I will be on major troll patrol and I need to be inside and home all that day. It's safe to say though, it'll be mid-month and I will always give a few days notice---once I check the weather and my schedule (which uh, is pretty void aside from yard work and cross stitching). I just need to make sure it's a day I will be inside all day!

And there is ZERO TOLERANCE for INTOLERANCE. There have been some horrible homophobic comments posted before--hence why I will be manning the decks all day on troll patrol--and you will be banned IMMEDIATELY if you post any hate or intolerance.

So yes, ads that are well, gay. Ads that have gay subtext. If you have ads that are NSFW, please put them behind a cut, as is always a rule here.

If there's a way to spread word of this event in other communities, please do! All day Thursday!! GAY EQUALITY DAY!!

ETA Someone messaged me and directed me to the LJ FAQ about using the LJ share post feature. I have tried and tried to get the code to work in this post and it will not! I even tried it on my own LJ and it won't work there either!! LJ is also being very wonky today and right now the post screen is very weird looking.
