So I'm in Tromsø, Norway, about to go up the cable car to see the view, when I spot this vintage Scandinavian Airlines poster, featuring - the Tromsø cable car!

Second pic is from up top, winter obvs.

Third is not an ad but old sheet music we saw in the Polar Museum - but THE FONTS.

Fun! I recognized the view before I read your text. If you look south you'll see me waving at you 80 km away. :D

And yay for visiting Tromsø! It is a bit cold here right now, but we have had a beautiful Turkish moon and lots of northern lights, plus a comet over us in the last few days, so I hope you find a spot out of the city lights where you can get a good look up at the sky.

You will also experience "the blue hour": the moments when the daylight almost reaches us and makes everything blue. It is a herald of the return of the sun in late January and it makes most people here very happy.

We saw northern lights on two excursions, although the second night was bitterly cold -14C + a strong wind.

Also, as someone in the printing industry I'm glad I'm not alone in my strange love of pretty and/or unique typefonts.
