Wow. Creepy masks!

What year is this from, BTW?

Why are old toys so often creepy, anyway? Did people NOT find the creepy back then? Has the definition of creepy changed over time?

I just look at some of this stuff, and can't imagine buying it for a child, or even wanting it in the house.

Oh my gosh, I think the same thing sometimes...the definition of creepy must have changed :D

The origin of "why are clowns scary".

Somebody needs to find the mold and make these again.

FAO is still in business but significantly downsized.

I guess the novelty stuff was quite the gag,
long before Oriental Trading http://www.orientaltrading.com/
or Archie McPhee http://mcphee.com/

I haven't been to the flagship store in forever, last time I was there they had Phantom Menace toys and were playing "Baby One More Time" in the Sanrio section which was my whole reason for going there.

I guess whoever bought them out didn't take good care of them. I just learned that Toy R Us owns them now. I was at the Times Square TRU against my better judgement (decent store though minus the crowds) and they had an FAOS boutique which pretty much only had the "Big" piano.

I would buy the doggy. The rest is scary!
