1922 American Express 130 day India Cruise

Cost of the cruise is little more than the cost to stay at home. $1500 and upwards...

The $1,500 cost would be equivalent to $20,206.56 today.

I checked that too, probably at the same place, the CPI calculator.  Good old Bureau of Labor Statistics…

But this would be a BLAST!  I'd have steamer trunks full of photographic film and recording wire laid in.

That ad copy is the itinerary, if you look at it - leaving New York, heading south to Cuba and then the Canal, then up the California coast and out across the Pacific to Eurasia, up through the Med out Gibraltar and and finally across the Atlantic to New York again.  Around the World in Seventeen Weeks!

Let me just check out Cunard's website...

The world cruise on the Queen Victoria is $20,000/person minimum. Hey, that's basically the same money! Until you add in the fees and extras.
