Kinney Shoes

I remember these as being sponsors of game shows in the 1970's.

Wow. $18.99 for non-designer shoes in 1968? That seems expensive. Maybe they could have the shoes made in some country with plenty of cheap labor. What could possibly go wrong?

Wow, I think I just barely remember Kinney shoes.

Hee! My father was a salesman for Kinney when I was a kid.

Ah! Actual stacked heels! Sometime in the last ten years or so, stacked heels came back in, except for this time they're not stacked, they're just painted to look stacked, even on some pretty expensive brands (Fluevogs come to mind). I've refused to buy any of them because they look so cheap and tatty to me compared to real stacked heels. I am a fashion curmudgeon.

Even though the shoe is not beautiful, her legs are =)

That they are.

The style of this ad looks more like it would be 1978 than 1968. But I don't know if they were doing anything but Ken Berry's ads for The Great Amerian Shoe Store (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=trKmk8eGCwM) at that point.

I was thinking the dress looks much more disco era than late 60's. I remember owning a similar dress in the late 70's.

Edit: I asked the photo owner on flickr if it might be mislabelled.

It has to be mislabeled. Women didn't wear shoes, dresses, or makeup like this in the late Sixties. Plus, their logo was different in 1968. Must be from the Seventies.

Agreed...I was second-guessing the date too, but thought maybe I was mistaken.

I want the heels she's wearing.

And I want REAL stacked heels. Not the stupid painted / stuck on / whatever is passing for stacked heels nowadays. #purist
