I kind of like that random "SAVE YOUR WASTE KITCHEN GREASE" directive. Those were the days when absolutely nothing went to waste.

It says it can be used for explosives... o_O Who knew? I wonder if you would ship it off to someone, or if a person came around to your house collecting kitchen grease?

I think you turned it in to the local butcher.

I know my mom and grandparents had special canisters for savin gthe kitchen grease, but I have no idea what they actually did with it. This was up through the early 80's, so it must have been mostly residual habits?

My MIL actually uses that grease...over and over and over and over...and in whatever she can.

Yeah, I always thought it was only kept back to fry other foods later, like my grandmother did. First time I've heard that it was for explosives, too. Although, given how grease burns, I suppose it makes sense in hindsight.

I strain my bacon fat through coffee filters and use it in green beans and in white sauce. I keep it stored in a jar in the fridge. My husband's grandmother always saved her grease to make soap.

So that's where the teenage mutant ninja turtles came from...

I've never heard of "sewer germs" before. eeuw.

Nice use of scaremongering to sell a product :)

Well, it's not like that's a new tactic or anything. LOL

Great. Buying a Thermos to keep flies from murdering the kids wasn't enough. Now we're under assault from SEWER GERMS.

I knew that indoor plumbing fad was a bad idea!

Yet more proof that the MOTHERING: UR DOIN IT RONG meme started with the Big Bang.
