Korean War Day Guest Host

Hello! I will be guest-hosting the Korean War event as [livejournal.com profile] misstia said. :)

Tomorrow is the 66th anniversary of the beginning of what is often referred to as the Forgotten War. My father was a combat veteran of that war and like many of that generation, he did his duty, came home to civilian life, and started his family and career. It's good not to forget.

You can post ads featuring the military, especially during the war years of 1950-1953, or ads featuring movies, TV (M*A*S*H*), Korea, etc. Anything you feel connects to the Korean War! As always, it's a broad latitude of interpretation here at [livejournal.com profile] vintage_ads. :)

I'll be commenting on any posts with thanks for posting.

Remembrance Is Necessary.

I gotta admit, as a wee imp I was in the room when M*A*S*H was on but never really liked it. I always 'assumed' it was during the Vietnam War though! DOH!!!

I hear you about the 'dos of MASH, anyway, because Alda's in particular was very out of place, to me. The nurses in RL photos anyway seem to have the usual cap of curls when their hair isn't covered by a babushka. Hot Lips was a great character and straight from '60's or '70's times - hairwise.

Hi, glad to hear of your dad's success and all. I was born in '53 and often think of the mindset of the period when 4 kids per family was considered 'average' at least in my community. I was #3. C: Dad didn't return to the service after WWII Air Force.
