I've seen plenty of "Guinness is good for you" ads from the UK- it seems to have been a pretty universal campaign.

This one may well be from Jamaica, where the stuff was popular according to the wikipedia article (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wincarnis)... also, the stuff apparently once included meat (hence wincarnis).

Meat? Meat?!

Well, I guess that eliminates the "should I drink red wine or white wine with this?" question...

Love the mammy >_>

[identity profile] randomneses.livejournal.com 2007-10-27 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
Or pseudo-mammy? Nouveau-mammy?

Whatever, either way this was funny/wtf worthy.

But can you imagine publishing it here? I wonder how many companies would be universally reviled if their overseas advertising was seen in the US.

I remember when I was younger, my parents use to try and smuggle Wincarnis back every time we would go visit Jamaica to visit family. I think we still have a bottle down in the basement...must be moonshine by now it's so fermented...
