That's some serious multi-tasking! drying your hair while on the ancient internets! (typewriter) ;)

Those old dryers are so loud I cannot imagine trying to make a phone call with one on.

Now with 10' extension cord!

my mother used to have one of those!
it was like a shower cap that would inflate with hot air. little holes in the lining beneath the cap would stream the air out onto your hair.

very bizarre experience.

My mother STILL has one and it STILL works.

I remember having to get up early for that thing to do its magic on picture day.

We have a picture somewhere of my big brother back when he was a preschooler with one of those dryers on his head. Luckily, the dryer had died by the time I would have been old enough for a picture. No, I just got my photo taken under one of those hard top bonnet dryers. Why did my mom even own this stuff?

And my grandmother still has that clock.

We had one of those. It was incredibly uncomfortable - the place where the tube connected to the bonnet would get really, really hot, while the rest would barely get warm. And it was heavy and noisy. I just lay on the bed and read when my mother made me use it. "You'll get a cold if you go outside with wet hair!"

What the hell is that thing on her desk? The head of a stuffed animal?

I bet the guy in the picture won it for her on their most recent date.

A hair dryer?...I figured it was just one of those old walkmans with the big headphones...

My grandparents had that clock and my mom still has an iron similar to the one in the picture... as far as I know, it still works perfectly.

Hey, I have that Toast-R-Oven! That's the one designed by Roger Funk, that's in the Smithsonian.

Matter of fact, I have four of them...

...and they all work.
