The second one is well laid out and practical and seems like a decent place to get the job done. However that first one, hnnng that view! Looks like the perfect place for doing anything but work heh. Though I am not too sure about that oven with a round window. Looks like a washing machine. I would have to change that.
#1, although that oven with the round window is very strange-looking and I'm sure I'd burn countless dinners not paying attention to anything but the view. :)
I'd go with #2. It's well laid out and would be a lot nicer to cook in than #1. I'd prefer that there was a wall between the kitchen and laundry sides, though.
#1 has a great view for the dining area, but dang, there's just about zero counter space and storage. That window above the stove would probably need daily cleaning, too.
#1 because: location, location, location! (I bet that view would cost mega-bucks now. Sigh.) I'd also get rid of the metal thing with the round window (stove? washing machine?) because (a) creepy and (b) more of that gorgeous view!
I love the first one! It needs more counterspace and a new oven
The second one is cute, I would afraid I'd be getting food smells in my laundry though. Maybe put the laundry elsewhere in the house and have a bigger kitchen with an eating area.
I like both of these, though I would change out the flooring to wood or tile or something. I guess I would give the edge to the top one because living by the water with all those windows... heaven. And am I seeing things or is that a gap between the cabinets and the floor? That just seems like a cleaning nightmare.
eta - also I think that's a space age oven, not a washing machine
Kitchen number one, by far! I love the dinette set - it looks so comfortable and the teal blue with matching glasses is great. I love the pale pink zigzagging pattern on the floor and the view outside is spectacular and makes me feel like I'm in some wonderful place.

(It has a face. Bug-eyed, mustachioed, and mouth agape. Creepy!)
