D Weekend - The Big "D"!

DISNEYLAND NEW FUN '61 AD

Sure I'd love to show the whole family a large selection of decapitated death-bloated heads like this, but who can afford those prices? It could cost our family of four upwards of $15 for a day at Disneyland!

Truly shocking prices. *nods* It's a wonder anyone would go.

“The most terrifying place on Earth!” That image looks like it was torn straight from my childhood nightmares.

That must be what inspired the title "Tragic Kingdom."

Hm, if this converter is accurate, it wasn't that cheap.

Except I remember as a kid those little ticket books only had a limited number of the really "good" rides - the E ticket rides - so if you wanted to ride on the Matterhorn or Space Mountain again, you had to buy another book.
Then, I seem to remember when I got a little older, they started doing a la carte tickets next to each ride, that were each a little more expensive than if you bought a whole book of tickets.
Then finally they went to the all-you-can-eat method and we thought, "what a deal!"

When I was in college, a Southern California one-day ticket was $20. Those were the days!
