The left one does not have foot pegs. That's the water pipe, cut for illustration, and a valve.
I'm unsure what the large upper left pipe is for.

Uh…does No. 1 (and thank God they don't show us No. 2) have a manually operated valve to close off sewer fumes? One can only hope.
