There's more to explore here....there are so many advertisements about "digestible" food and everyone seems constipated back then. The whole Kellogg's empire seems to be built on these maladies. What on earth were those people eating?

to be fair, there's a crapton of fiber foods/supplements advertised on tv nowadays (excuse my phrasing)
