Some feed companies even sold grain in bags printed with calico and other patterns. I still have some from my grandmother's farm.

They also used to sell flour in 25-lb. muslin sack that people would make into pillow cases. Somewhere I have some that my grandmother embroidered. Probably some were converted into items of clothing.
