(no subject)

got a kitchen? get K-Veniences

That's right, it's the wife's fault that she's run out of room in the kitchen.

If only you had entered this during the sexism contest! It would've been perfect.

That's what I thought too!

I agree - I would surely have voted for this one. The sheer contempt involved in a man dragging a woman along by her ear... Breathtaking.

I'd strangle him with his damned bow tie.

We actually had the towel rack, in the house I grew-up in. It was pretty neat.

But that cartoon? Oh, that is just wrong on SO many levels! I hope someone in Grand Rapids lost their job over it.

OK - he's dragging her by her ear -- I guess the entire "caveman/hair dragging" thing was so passe by then...

right??

Someone mounted one of those prong type towel racks the wrong way in my kitchen. Instead of the arms being beside each other they're up and down. I'd have to fix wall and repaint kitchen to use it the right way.

Real men drag their domestic janitor broads ("wives") by the nipple. Everyone knows that.

Seriously, to whomever created this hellish ad- who thought the bow-tied wife abuser there was a sympathetic figure?

They still make sort of similar things:

I lived in a place that had the sliding towel rack under the kitchen sink and it was great. There were lots of mid-century mod cons in that place, including steel lined drawers for storing dry goods loose. The ad is horrid, but the products are great.

I actually learned something from this ad - we have a cupboard with that sliding/disappearing towel rack in our apartment - and neither I nor my boyfriend had a clue what it was for... *headdesk*
