I've seen real maternity corsets, and when used properly it did aide and support in a good way. That picture isn't them, though.

Shortly after giving birth, the last thing I would have considered wearing was a corset. I did have to wear this foundation garment thing that wrapped around my waist and belly as I healed from my C-section; that was kind of like a corset, but at least it had Velcro and looked nothing like the one pictured in the ad.
