This picture is from a current eBay auction for a repro on paper; we've had this poster in the bathroom—enamel on metal—for years. I think it's also a reproduction—certainly not original.

I actually live in Durham and see these all the time - you're probably exactly right. There is a lot of regrowth in the former tobacco areas of town, and "new" versions of the old ads are everywhere.
