The CBS ad is for CBS radio, not CBS television. Fanny Brice only appeared as Baby Snooks on television once before she died, and that was a guest shot on a variety show, not her own series. Most of the other shows on the radio lineup soon moved to television, but Fanny Brice died on May 29, 1951, before that happened.
One of my earliest memories is when the show was to come on that night, hearing the announcement that Fanny Brice had died. I don't remember what they ran instead- it might have been a transcription of an earlier episode- but I was astonished and very unhappy. It was my first experience with the death of a celebrity. Now every time somebody famous dies I remember Fanny Brice.
