I have the 'reissued" Stylophone which is identical looking to the one in the ad, available today. The original design was no longer able to be manufactured because the components have long become obsolete. This meant the new unit had to be designed and built around modern components; doing this allowed them to give the instrument two additional "voices" along with the buzzy sound of the classic model. The first thing I did after putting batteries in it and tuning the scale was to queue up "Space Oddity" and play along. It's actually very easy to play.
David Bowie was not an easy "concept" for some smaller-minded folks to handle, with his at times androgynous appearance, stage personas and makeup, and the music, despite connecting with and being enjoyed by lots of people, had an arty and hard to classify aesthetic. Knuckle-draggers need not apply.
