Ha! "Kau Boy" Obviously a homonymical play on the English word cowboy considering the hat.

Yep. Cowboys and Indians are a VERY (almost bizarrely) popular thing in 20th century German culture. Until you hear the story about Karl May and his zillions of books about the American West, and it almost makes sense.
