KTXQ: Q102 Texas' Best Rock (1991)

Pardon me while I trip on some local-interest nostalgia. If you can't relate, just think about whatever rock 'n roll radio station was popular in your town during your formative years--the one for which at least half the cars at your high school had a bumper sticker. That is basically what this is about.



Of course, they were bought out by some corporate entity that forced it into general suckitude and it died a horrible death as all the great music stations did.

Remember the Hiney Wine bumper stickers? There was many a Terry Dorsey silly skit on KSCS.

I alternated between the ZOO and Q102.

With the inverted heart meant to look like an ass? Oh, yeah! In my junior year, I went to a Christian school in a small town. I remember riding with my best friend and our principal, a good Christian lady, naturally, was driving us to some school function and a car with one of those stickers passed us. She asked us if we knew what the upside-down heart meant and what Hiney referred to. "Does the upside-down heart mean you don't love something?" She also didn't know how it was pronounced. "Is it hiney? Hinny? Do you know what is?"

OMG, we were dying!!! We were trying so hard to not to crack up and pretend to be totally innocent about the matter. "No, ma'am. We have no idea what that's about." :D
