80's Weekend: Several My Little Pony commercials!

Of course, My Little Pony is still with us! Just in a different form. But I still think these first ones were the best. So many poses! Boy ponies! Sea Ponies!

I always kind of get sticker shock when I buy a pony nowadays. Back in the day, five bucks bought a pony big as my hand. Now they're teensy-tiny, and they're still five bucks.

This one just doesn't seem right without "Shoo-be-doo, Shoo-shoo-be-doo!"

The early baby ponies had cutie marks, but I will give the newer cartoon that the idea that you have to find your special talent to get your cutie mark works really well.

I had SEVERAL of these ones!

My sister watched this until the tape burned out.

These make me miss my childhood! Forgot about sea ponies!

Oh, the sea ponies! <3

I love the original MLP toys! I still have most of mine from childhood and buy more whenever I can find a good price on them. I'm really sad that everyone now associated My Little Pony with Friendship is Magic which as a long time old school pony fan I highly dislike, I just can not get over the art. I like my ponies cute and chubby (except the sweetheart sisters which were thinnner but still pretty cute).

*grins* I'm in the process of writing an MLP/Cthulhu Mythos crossover - The Shadow Over Hinnysmouth.

(yes, I write MLP/HPL crossovers - people even do TVTropes pages about them, so clearly I'm doing something right.... or terribly, terribly wrong...)

The new cartoon is cute, but I really hate the current look of the toys. I had heaps of them - I still remember feuding with my then-best-friend when I got Melody, one of the first two pegasus ponies, which she thought I purchased simply to lord over her. Still have most of them sitting on a bookshelf. They're so cheerful and rounded and cute and not weirdly big-eyed and pointy-headed.

I loooooooved my Sea Pony, and cried when I had to throw it out because it got all moldy. :( I am a Pony purist... none of this newfangled pony crap for me! I'm old school. 80's or GTFO, for real. ;)

(Don't even get me started on the sexing up of Strawberry Shortcake and Rainbow Brite... grrrrrr...)

*squeee!* PONIES!!

I hate to admit it, but I do like the current MLP:FiM show better after watching the older specials on YouTube. (I thought your username looked familiar! You post at equestriamlp, too, right?)

I dislike the new version of Strawberry Shortcake. I can hardly stand to get past the theme song when it's on the Hub. And I've only seen a glimpse of the newer Rainbow Brite, and I do not approve.

I had one MLP as a kid but that was it. Never really got into it further than that, and I really don't understand this Friendship is Magic stuff. I hear the weirdest fandom-related stuff about that show. Just baffling.
