Its funny because at first I thought this was an ad for a blowup doll.

Because she looks like a blow up doll.

She needs something to offset that hair bow!

Ahahaha, me too!

And me! XD I think it's the eyes, they seem to have that 'evil doll' thing going on where they're looking in two directions at once... o__O

i remember these ads....some said "blow yourself up"....i don't think that tag line would work real well nowadays.....

Maybe she can get a cricket to help her rescue her father and become a real girl.

Weirdly, I think she's snuggly-cute.

And I never realized I was born in the city that spawned.... The Poster People. Eeek!

I thought the same thing too! hehe

<--- just sayin'.

Almost as scary as having a disturbing picture of a clown.

[identity profile] fledgist.livejournal.com 2011-06-27 11:57 am (UTC)(link)
I first read a different meaning of "blown-up". Exploding women are not exactly a good idea.

Then I wondered at the ego issues of someone who'd want a poster of themselves that size.

[identity profile] evilfoo.livejournal.com 2011-06-27 06:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Ditto! now your pinup can be blown up!

[identity profile] runeshower.livejournal.com 2011-06-27 10:04 pm (UTC)(link)
18"x24" isn't my idea of GIANT sized. Nor even larger than life, though that girl looks to be really tiny.

Blow Up Betty Cooper.

They used to do something like this at carnivals and fairs in the late 80's. For most of my childhood, one of me and one of my cousin hung in my grandparents' TV room. 'Twas embarrassing.

And if I remember correctly, my face (in black and white) was superimposed on a giant root beer mug.

Yikes! It's as if some creepy doll got possessed by an ancient Egyptian god. That's the best picture they could find for the ad?

Between that pic and the company name makes the ad look like a poster for some bad Hammer film.
