1949 Arthur Godfrey Gold Seal Glass Wax Trade Print Ad

"Glass Wax" was the best-known glass cleaner back in the 40s the same way "Flit" was the best-known bug killer.

Back in the 70's, come Christmas, my mom would pull out her ancient can of Glass wax, the glass wax stencils, and go to work on all our windows (we had the exact same set of stencils as in this commercial)

You could add food coloring too..
In my mother's way of thinking..a Christmas tree HAD to be green. XP
Plus, after Christmas was over, you just had to wipe them off, and the windows would be cleaned in the process.
Now she just puts gaudy flashing things up everywhere..
and I am left feeling nostalgic for Glass Wax fumes~ XD

THIS!
