Contest entry.....plus co-mod post.....

It's too bad someone had to call this dinner!!

Contest judging starts tomorrow sometime....top 5 vote getters from the past week will be posted for a round of yes or no! so if you did not vote on some of the past week's entries, please go through and do that before tomorrow!

someone suggested that my co-mod [livejournal.com profile] tanwen or i should have to make and TASTE the winning recipe but i really think that would be cruel and unusual punishment!! :) does anyone have any fun ideas of what the winner should get?

a community member suggested we have another contest featuring "dialogue balloons"....i quote "...where we find ads with the most asinine, ludicrous 'Who on earth would say THAT?' dialogue..." sounds, fun, yes?? some of those dialogue balloon ads are pretty ridiculously funny!

that contest will be next month sometime....beginning of the month.....i'll post about a week before to remind everyone....

do you think the next contest should go for a week though again? or just maybe like 3-4 days? what do you all think??

A week sounds good, that way people can have some time to examine the ads and stock up on antacids. Good lord, this one looks like one of those prank cakes on Cake Wrecks!

That meatloaf looks like a chocolate cake with mushroom shaped frosting.

I'm going to make this for my husband, he will love it. It does look kind of gross but when you read the recipe it's all things that taste good together.

Nasty mix of textures.

I have no preference for a longer or shorter contest period. I like the idea of a "who would say that" contest.

There's no limit to how many entries we can say "yes" to, I assume.

I second that you should at least make the recipe. But what's the point in making a dish and not eating it? And besides, how are we supposed to know if it's actually awful or just... missed it's time, I suppose ;)

I like a full week of disgustingness!

I would make this, I would eat this, and I would stare at you all defiantly while doing so.

Voting yes, mostly because putting mushrooms in or on food makes said food completely inedible to me. I hate them so much.

I thought the middle stuff was mashed potatoes, which would be delicious. Also, canned mushrooms are vile. All other mushrooms, however, are awesome.

I vote yes on the recipe. That filling-whatever just turns me off.

I like the "dialogue balloon" contest idea. I think a week is good.

YES

Liking the idea for the "dialogue balloons", and think that it should run for a week, too.

It's too bad we have to call it edible.

"The empress of all meat loafs." That was priceless. :-)

That would be really good if it were made of chocolate cake and ice cream, with little chunks of chocolate. But otherwise, eww.
