O man, these covers bring back memories, my grandmother had them on her furniture, I remember sittin on them in the summer watching tv, and the back of my legs sticking to them when i tried to get up lol

Sounds rather uncomfortable. (Unless you just took the plastic off every time you sat down, which just sounds like a hassle)

Oh yeah, mine, too. She smoked Pall Malls. So the plastic covers developed a slight sepia tone over the years.

nope you only took them off for "company" but to your average old lady that had them whatever counted as company never happened.

When I first moved out on my own, I needed a couch. I ended up buying this sweet lime green paisley print couch from the 50's I believe that was under plastic and only used in the "sitting room" which was never used. The lady who had owned them passed away and her son and daughter-in-law wanted to get rid of them. I bought them for 200$ (Couch, love seat and chair) and they were like brand new. So pretty much forever lol but I love that couch.

I also agree! My great-aunt had them....nothing spells hospitality like plastic chair covers!

Christmas Day and Easter. That's the only 2 days our sofa was allowed to breathe

Please tell me you took the plastic off!

Yeah...but with all the parties we should have kept it just for those nights
