The ugliest kitchen ever!

That fridge door... I don't think it is actually big enough.

That's Vanna White when she was just a little girl.
ext_22388: (augh!)

Just the thought of living with that kitchen is enough to give me a seizure.

[identity profile] daniela-lynx.livejournal.com 2010-04-18 01:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I. I actually like it ;//;

The look on that woman's face is just so sinister. And dutch folk art....:::shudders:::.

You're not alone. I love it! This ad has been posted here a couple of times and it's one of my favorites. I'm always glad to see it again.

breakfast in Tyrol!

Woah. I'd be a little afraid to eat brownies that came out of that kitchen. Just have a feeling they'd always be "special".

Grabbing a snack before Hitler Youth meeting.

Right on, that kitchen is fantastic!

[identity profile] cerise-tea.livejournal.com 2010-04-18 03:48 pm (UTC)(link)
I like the kitchen too!!!

[identity profile] studioqt.livejournal.com 2010-04-18 04:58 pm (UTC)(link)
This one is one of my favorite WTF's because...where's the floor?
The girl and dog are on one plane, the 'fridge is on one and the woman is on another.

But it's all good because the lovely kitchen brings everyone together.

I love this ad, and in it the kitchen seems really pretty & cheerful--but I don't think I'd actually want this kitchen.

[identity profile] electro-girl.livejournal.com 2010-04-18 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I have to agree. Waaay too much going on there for my tastes.

[identity profile] crabofdoom.livejournal.com 2010-04-18 07:11 pm (UTC)(link)
I agree. It looks like if you tried to close it, it would come up about a third or a quarter short.

[identity profile] cactuswren.livejournal.com 2010-04-18 07:24 pm (UTC)(link)
It does indeed seem pretty and cheerful, but I might manage to prepare a maximum of four or five meals in it before I was reduced to shrieking GET ME OUT OF HERE.

"Mommy? Do you think you can make me a new dress? This one is so short that I'm having a hard time keeping Fido's nose out from ... you know ... there ..."

I love that kitchen.

[identity profile] kartusch.livejournal.com 2010-04-19 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
adore it myself.

[identity profile] kartusch.livejournal.com 2010-04-19 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
it has always interested me that for a point in time the "appropriate" thing to put young girls in was dresses that stopped miles above the knee. I have no idea on why that is

I looove that kitchen - kind of channeling Hanna Andersson a bit.

"Hello, my name is Greta and I'm a stenciller."

[identity profile] 1silver-seraph.livejournal.com 2010-04-19 01:40 pm (UTC)(link)
That is rather hideous.

[identity profile] mackinzie.livejournal.com 2010-04-19 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I like it if it weren't so busy. Maybe a design on every other door, that way it wouldn't be an eyesplosion every time I came in there.

[identity profile] stefanie-bean.livejournal.com 2010-04-20 02:50 pm (UTC)(link)
That kitchen design is such a refreshing change from the googie-inspired "George Jetson" look so common in the '50s. (Does the ad say "September 1948?" Can't tell.)

I like her apron, too - I'd be all over that if I found it in a thrift / vintage clothing shop.
