Definitely not the oldest ads posted on Vintage Ads, but at 120 years old it's cool to see that a few of the of these companies are still in business today!

Did you see where Budweiser is changing their name to 'America' this summer. Um??? So America Light would be what, Washington DC or Puerto Rico?

This first ad is both beautifully minimalist, with black and white pen art and lots of white space, and very odd - Maytag paying their respects to farmers.

Maytag, 1944

This second one is just cute, and unlike other Pabst ads of that year, it is not drawn, but modeled.  Unintentional farmer motif in both, I swear.

Pabst, 1936

Choose 1 to fuck, 1 to marry, 1 to kill:
- A sexy Dixie Cup
- A cheerful coffee bean
- A coy pint of Guinness.

Remember when America was kindly and had good-humored tolerance?

I have a theory that any country exporting beer to the US is sending us the bottom of the barrel stuff. I've had Molson Canadian many times in the distant past. It was always "skunky."
