If you'll remember, Oct. 21, 2015 was the date in the future when Doc Brown and Marty McFly were to have arrived from 1985.

Well, what have we got to show for it?

Where is my flying car?

Where is my cheap fusion power?

Where is my hoverb-oh, wait, we have hoverboards now, nvm

Where are my self-lacing sneakers?

I think Tom Selleck aka Magnum, PI was so cool! So is the car although I think I've just been informed that the 308 is not a "real Ferrari" and more a Fiat. whatever. You could have also won a 1982 Fiat Turbo Spider!

One more... Magnum goes back to 'Nam! )

Takara's version of My Little Pony:

These are supercute! Since Hasbro still partners with Takara Tomy (on Transformers) and the MLP line is so popular, it would be great if they would bring these back.

I do not own one but I have a dinosaur/kaiju made by Takara in this style.

Paring up a cool ad with a great song.

Because LJ is sucking right now, we cant embed videos from sites that are not YouTube. Hero Tia, is on the case to fix this, for now you will have to click the link to see the match.

Nobody tell this 1985 ad that The Donald is "for traditional marriage"

About 2 years ago, I saw his other Atlantic City casino and let me tell you, if you ever need a location to shoot a movie or TV show that takes place in The Rich Person's 1980s, you cannot do better than that frozen-in-time 'resort.' I wish I'd taken pictures. I felt like I'd stepped inside the movie American Psycho.

I don't care what the ad says. There isn't anything fresh about Lutefisk. It's some of the unfreshest stuff in existence.

Dick’s Meat Shop could be found at 1609 Fourth Ave. NW. Located across the street from Oak Park News. You could order beef and pork in full, halves or quarters. They also cut steaks to order for special occasions. In December, 1985 a side of beef was $1.25 per pound, hamburger was $.49 a pound and cured hams $1.89 lb. Since it was the Christmas season Lutefisk was available for $1.89 lb.

This was one of the ultimate status symbol bicycles of the 1980s. That was every bit as true as the 1970 Schwinn Krates when this crowd was younger.

They didn't call Troy the Collar City for nothing. Arrow wasn't the only player in town.
